A self-described “Army brat,” Rachael Hancock was born in Germany and lived for awhile in Atlanta, but when she decided to put down roots, she settled into the mountains of north Georgia. She works as the accounting manager for ACE, overseeing monthly company financial activities and also handling human resources.
“Even though I don’t deal directly with our clients, I really believe in the mission of ACE, of how we help people pursue their goals,” she says. “I get satisfaction from the outreach and the impact we have.”
Before coming to ACE two years ago, she worked at United Community Bank. She has a master’s degree in accounting. “ACE feels like a second family to me. We’re a close-knit office,” she says.
Hancock lives in Blairsville with her husband, David, and their two children: Jordan, 5, and Trace, 10. She is a Cub Master and Den Leader for the Cub Scouts. “Between my work at ACE and my Cub Scout duties, I really don’t have time for any other hobbies,” she says with a laugh.
She manages stress by working out three times a week. Sunday, though, is a day of rest. “I like to spend all day in my pajamas, watching television with my family.”
