Weary travelers who settle into a comfortable room at Clarion Inn & Suites Atlanta Downtown can thank ACE for playing a role in their good night’s sleep.
Last year, ACE contributed $1 million to the $9.4 million construction build-out project by H. J. Russell & Company, which specializes in real estate development, construction, and property management. The family-run, Atlanta-based company had established a respectable track record with the Castleberry Inn but were looking to migrate into the Clarion brand. ACE partnered with Citizens Trust on the financing and we were honored to get involved with such an iconic family business.
H. J. Russell & Company is owned by three siblings: H.J. Russell Jr., Donata Russell Ross, and Michael Russell. The organization has worked in Atlanta for well over 60 years.
The Clarion chain is owned by Choice Hotels International Inc., a hospitality giant based in Maryland. The company, which is one of the largest hotel chains in the world, owns several brands ranging from upscale to economy. Atlanta’s new five-story, 104-room hotel is located a convenient five blocks south of the Mercedes Benz Stadium, and one mile from the education complex of Morehouse College, Clark University, and Spelman College.
“It caters to a wide range of business and leisure guests while providing a variety of other amenities such as a business center, workout facilities and pool.” Flack says. “The hotel is focused on first class service, efficiency, and increasing the potential for guest returns which will assist it in its goal of contributing to the redevelopment of the Mercedes-Benz stadium community. ACE is enthusiastic to have participated in its establishment.”
