Sales at Elizabeth Asika’s medical supply business, Alpha Medical Equipment and Medical Supplies Inc., had stagnated due to an 0ut-of-the-way location. Inventory assortment was limited, too, because of the small size of the space — just 459 square feet.
A loan from ACE made her business expansion dreams a reality. Elizabeth, an RN who also holds an MBA, moved to a 1,100 square foot location at 1527 Church Street in Decatur, near DeKalb Medical Center. The loan paid for space renovations and the addition of inventory.
“We get walk-ins here,” she said. “Every month we’re doing better and better.”
Elizabeth has also been able to add hours for her two employees.
