ACE’s 5th Annual Speed Coaching was a huge success last Thursday night in Norcross. Fifty business and financial experts from the Atlanta area volunteered to be coaches and offer their experience and insights to small-business owners looking for guidance.
“I had a wonderful experience volunteering time to provide one-on-one speed coaching to aspiring entrepreneurs and businesses. It was enlightening to impart knowledge on individuals that can enable them to move forward and succeed. The feedback, networking and people in attendance made this a truly powerful event,” said Nkosana Peebles, Portfolio Manager for Sage Mid Market Solutions and first-time coach at the event.
Speed Coaching takes its name and structure from the traditional speed dating concept and adds an entrepreneurial twist. This fun, high-energy and informative evening is a one-of-a-kind interactive event in the Atlanta area. ACE’s event enables each registered business owner to meet one-on-one with three successful business leaders and expert coaches in 30-minute increments to discuss strategies and solutions for their businesses.
Coaching topics included financial readiness, marketing, sources of funding, sales strategy, legal and licensing, financial growth, human resources, as well as contracting and certification. ACE’s lending and credit team (Vonda Echols, Anthony Flack, Bonita Doster and Courtney Lynn) joined in on the fun, coaching participants on the financial topics. ACE Board members, Sibyl Slade, Grace Williams and Bill Zawrotny, and Loan Committee member, Dawnita McCain, were also coaches this year.
Special thanks to Sandra Font, Director, ACE Women’s Business Center; Alejandra Diaz, Program Coordinator; and Ruth Ann Whatley, Executive Assistant to the President, for organizing the event.
